Notes & tips
- Cooking times can vary depending on your slow cooker and the size of the steak pieces. For food safety, make sure the beef reaches a safe internal temperature. For tender chuck, you may need additional cooking time until it becomes fork-tender.
- Sirloin works well for steak bites, while chuck or stew meat is better suited to longer slow cooking.
- Cut the potatoes into similar-sized pieces so they cook evenly.
- For extra flavor, sear the steak bites in a hot skillet with olive oil before adding them to the crockpot.
- If you like a stronger garlic flavor, add an extra clove or two.
